چکیده
Ti$_3$C$_2$T$_X$ nano-sheets (MXenes) are an emerging class of two-dimensional materials with outstanding potential to be employed in energy storage, catalysis, and triboelectric applications, on length scales ranging from the nano- macroscopic. Despite rapidly accelerating interest this new materials, their nanoscale frictional properties particular, for solid lubrication nanoscale, have not been explored detail yet. In short communication, we present first results characteristics MXenes, form a friction map obtained isolated Ti$_3$C$_2$T$_x$ nano-sheet deposited silicon dioxide substrate via force microscopy. Our experiments reveal that few-layer indeed act as lubricants reducing substrates, although effectively graphene. The reported here pave way further studies focusing achieved by (MXene) nano-sheets.

Friction Force for Boundary Lubrication
A thermodynamic model describing the phase transition of first order between structure states of lubricant material in the boundary friction regime is proposed. It is shown that lubricant melts with temperature increase or at shear of rubbing surfaces if the elastic strain (stress) exceeds the critical value. The phase diagram with domains of dry and sliding friction is constructed. The depende...

Nanoscale chemical imaging by photoinduced force microscopy.
Correlating spatial chemical information with the morphology of closely packed nanostructures remains a challenge for the scientific community. For example, supramolecular self-assembly, which provides a powerful and low-cost way to create nanoscale patterns and engineered nanostructures, is not easily interrogated in real space via existing nondestructive techniques based on optics or electron...
متن کاملNanoscale Electric Characteristics and Oriented Assembly of Halobacterium salinarum Membrane Revealed by Electric Force Microscopy
Purple membranes (PM) of the bacteria Halobacterium salinarum are a unique natural membrane where bacteriorhodopsin (BR) can convert photon energy and pump protons. Elucidating the electronic properties of biomembranes is critical for revealing biological mechanisms and developing new devices. We report here the electric properties of PMs studied by using multi-functional electric force microsc...
